As the Head of the Israeli Center for Capoeira in Even Yehuda and Emek Hefer, Tom has helped countless students develop their skills, confidence, and discipline—whether they were complete beginners or experienced fighters looking to refine their technique.
But his expertise doesn’t stop there. Tom has earned the respected title of Capoeira Contra Mestre, a recognition that signifies years of dedication, mastery, and leadership within the Capoeira community. The Accountability Program
and how it will help you evolve
Now, let’s dive into what makes this community unique - the ‘accountability program’. At the beginning of every month we will have a zoom call during which everybody will have a partner assigned. “What is this partner for?” – you might ask. Well, after the call, you and your partner will discuss your goals for the month – about what you want to achieve and how you plan on doing that. You will set deadlines and you will always be able to track your partner’s progress. You will motivate each other to achieve these goals, and, at the end of the month, you will give feedback to your partner. Each month, the community will vote for ‘the best partner’ which will receive a cash prize. The twist – your partner can be anyone. Your friend, a stranger, or a trained teacher. Yes, I will be taking part every month on this program and I will do my best to help my partner. But of course, teachers that take part in the ‘accountability program’ cannot receive the cash prize. This prize will always be assigned to a learner. Also, every week, on a fixed date and at a fixed time, there will be a check-in call on zoom. Here you can ask questions and talk with the teachers – maybe you need help in deciding what your goals should be, or you find a specific movement difficult – we’re always here to help. Once again– everything is tailored to maximize each student’s progress and for people to interact with each other as much as possible. This is what makes Capoeira much more fun – practicing with others.
